diamond_shell
WARNING: this is the UNSTABLE 0.8x branch. Once the diamond shell
code will stabilize, the 0.9x series will be started. This may
take months or even years, so I don't recommend for people
to download these releases of the 0.8x branches yet.
This is the Diamond-Shell project, a project that tries to create
a Ruby Shell that may serve as a replacement for bash, but may
also be used as an replacement for IRB one day.
As of July 2016, the shell is in maintenance mode and fairly unfinished.
While I will continue to improve on this project, add code, fix
bugs, polish the existing code, improve and extend the documentation,
I have to concede that I do not have enough time to really bring this
project up to a higher standard, quality-wise and feature-wise.
The original aim for this shell was to serve as a replacement for
bash one day.
Currently, the project is in a very early test-stage, not even early
- please consider keeping this in mind when giving this project a try,
as quite some things may not be working as intended; or are flat
out missing as of yet.
For the available options, this command can be issued:
dia --help
Local @ivars can be defined, such as via @foo = 'Hello World!'.
This should now work as it does in irb.
Other objects also work, such as @foo = (1..3)
This is still somewhat limited though.
